All prices listed are per person twin share. *Tour commences in Darwin and ends in Broome. **Overnight Melbourne. Refer to page 144. Deposit of $600 due within 7 days of booking, plus any additional deposit needed for nonrefundable airfares.   Balance due 60 days prior to departure.

Day 1 (D) ADELAIDE, GLENELG, PORT AUGUSTA

We gather in Adelaide where our exploration of the Eyre Peninsula commences. We visit the seaside suburb of Glenelg before departing for Port Augusta where we spend time at the Wadlata Outback Centre, walk through the ‘Tunnel of Time’. Our home for tonight is The Standpipe, Port Augusta.

Day 2 (B,L,D) IRON KNOB, WUDINNA, STREAKY BAY

An earlier start today as we travel to Iron Knob, take a guided tour of the township and view the local iron ore mine. At Wudinna, gateway to the Gawler Ranges we admire the towering Pildappa Rock at nearby Minnipa. Later this afternoon we reach Streaky Bay and our home for the night the Streaky Bay Hotel.

Day 3 (B,L,D) ELLISTON, COFFIN BAY, PORT LINCOLN

Time to enjoy this beautiful coastal area before visiting Murphy’s Haystacks, huge ancient windblown granite rocks. On to Elliston where we view the largest mural in the southern hemisphere, depicting early local history. Visit Coffin Bay prior to arriving at Port Lincoln, home to a huge tuna fishing industry. Our home for two nights, the Hilton Motel.

Day 4 (B,D) BOSTON BAY CRUISE, WHALERS WAY

Today we visit the Axel Stenross Maritime Museum and enjoy a sightseeing harbour cruise of Boston Bay. During the afternoon we travel to Whalers Way at the southern tip of the Eyre Peninsula, simply magnificent scenery! View the cliffs, blowholes and golden beaches. A photographer’s delight!

Day 5 (B,L,D) COWELL, WHYALLA, PORT AUGUSTA

Our journey takes us along the East Coast of the peninsula, as we return to Port Augusta. We stop at Cowell, home to one of the world’s largest jade deposits. At Whyalla we take in the sweeping views from Hummock Hill and tour the Whyalla Maritime Museum including the HMAS Whyalla. Home tonight, The Standpipe, Port Augusta.

Day 6 (B,D) BURRA, MINTARO, CLARE

Departing Port Augusta we travel into the heart of the Clare Valley to Burra where a knowledgeable local guide joins us for a tour of the former copper mining township that now carries National Trust classification. We continue to Mintaro visiting the Georgian style mansion, Martindale Hall before reaching our home for the night, the Clare Country Club.

Day 7 (B,L) BAROSSA VALLEY, ADELAIDE

This morning we travel through the famed Barossa Valley, a beautiful region filled with vineyards, quaint villages and farmlands. We stop in the heart of the Barossa, at the charming town of Tanunda, for our farewell lunch. On arrival in Adelaide our enjoyable holiday to the magnificent Eyre Peninsula concludes.
